Catherine Stock, joint head of chambers, represented a nurse at a NMC conditions of practice review hearing.

Catherine had previously been successful in securing an agreed outcome with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for this client of a 12 months’ conditions of practice order. The allegations were wide-ranging and included failure to escalate safeguarding concerns as well as clinical competence issues.

Catherine had worked with the client over the term of the order to ensure that no other conditions would be put in place by the time of the review. The review hearing went to plan, and the order was lapsed.

Catherine Stock, joint head of chambers, said:

“If you are subject to any fitness to practise case at the NMC and are considering trying to negotiate an agreed outcome, know as a consensual panel determination, come to us and we can guide you through the process for the best possible outcome.”

DS, the client, said:

Catherine Stock has been amazing and a very good professional. Catherine’s advice is fair and wise.”
